In September 2011, Plymouth hosted the America's Cup World Series - a battle of the best sailors and the fastest boats on the planet.

The natural amphitheatre of Plymouth Sound created the perfect conditions with plenty of wind and a grandstand view for many thousands of spectators of all the thrills and spills.
