Dubbed London's River Marathon, the spectacular boat race up the River Thames attracts over 330 crews from all over the globe and appeals to every level of competitor from those who enjoy fun, fancy dress and charity stunts, to serious sportsmen and women who like to win. A great fun day out for competitors and spectators alike.
Starting at London Docklands, crews race through London passing the Tower, Westerminser, Lambeth, Battersea, Wandsworth and Hammersmith bridges to name a few. The finish line is the Riverside below Ham House in Richmond.
From its debut in 1988, The Great River Race now has firmly established itself in the sporting calendar to such an extent that experienced crews describe it as a classic event - the one they all want to win!
