We're delighted to announce that our new floating tender pontoon is open for use after the pre-existing pontoon suffered storm damage earlier this year.
The original pontoon was severely damaged in the January storms resulting in the requirement for an entirely new instalment. The new, larger pontoon provides storage for seventy four tenders together with two all-tide launch ramps. In addition, the two new ramps have been installed with fixed rollers to ease launch and recovery.
Marina manager Danyal Adams commented, “We are delighted with our new dinghy pontoon that replaces a much smaller one which was badly damaged by storms last winter. The dinghy pontoon was greatly missed while the replacement was being built, but the wait has really been worth it”.
In addition to replacing the old pontoon, Mr Adams is confident that this pontoon will withstand the strongest of UK storms. “This superb new pontoon has twice the capacity with a much stronger, all steel construction. It will be of great benefit to our customers on swinging moorings allowing them to reach their boats safely in the comfort of stronger, sturdier tenders, which would otherwise be too heavy to carry on their car and can now be kept safe and secure near the water, not far from their vessel with excellent access to all-tide launch ramps.”
Situated on the River Crouch in Essex, Fambridge Yacht Haven offers a 180 berth marina as well as swinging moorings, mud berths and a fully operational boatyard. The Essex marina offers a well protected east coast haven to visiting yachtsmen.
