A glorious 20m 'flotel' and charter boat will be based at Plymouth Yacht Haven from spring 2017 offering five-star service and a unique on-board experience.
SY Disco Volante, an Italian-built Stefini RPD66 which translates 'flyer saucer', offers dining, accommodation, cruising and a modern, elegant and luxury experience for up to 6 guests at a time.
Experienced sailor Annie Aitchison launched Disco Volante in 2013, with the help of her parents, Lynn and John Constantine. The family spent months trying to track down the perfect boat for their business venture before finding their dream vessel in Italy.
Then came the fun bit - Annie, 26, who has been sailing since she was 13-years-old and has made several transatlantic crossing – had to bring the yacht 2,500 miles back to England. After an extensive re-fit in 2012, Disco Volante was ready to welcome guests aboard.
“It’s been fantastic,” says Annie, whose hero is Ellen MacArthur. “We’ve had some lovely people on board and it’s been great meeting so many different guests. All the reviews so far have been really good.”
The family have looked after everyone from an 82-year-old who’d never been on a boat before to children, families celebrating university graduation day and even a couple who got engaged aboard. “Being on-board It just makes people happy!”
Disco Volante will be offering luxury ‘flotel’ accommodation and sailing cruises from their new berth at Plymouth Yacht Haven from April 2017.
