International marina group Yacht Havens has announced that it has appointed Helen Grew as Finance Director, effective from 1st February 2014.
Helen joins Yacht Havens having spent 12 years in the recruitment sector and in the education sector. She recently left Explore Learning after taking the company through a successful sale to Graphite Capital, a leading independent private equity investor. During her time at Explore Learning Helen set up systems which enabled the company to successfully grow from 12 educational centres to 76 centres throughout the UK and significantly increase turnover and profits. Her particular strengths are in managing multi site companies, dealing with managers, putting the customer first and ensuring the financial systems complement a company’s needs to provide excellent customer service.
She succeeds Kay Lines, who steps down from the role at the end of May 2014 following a dedicated 14 years in the post to enjoy a well-deserved retirement.
Dylan Kalis, Managing Director at Yacht Havens, announced the appointment:
“It is sad that we are saying a fond farewell to Kay, who has been a strong and invaluable guiding hand at the helm during a period of important growth for our company. However, we are delighted to have found someone of Helen's calibre to join our team in her stead. Yacht Havens has grown substantially in recent years, adding an exciting range of marinas, dry stacks and commercial marine premises in Essex, Plymouth, Hampshire, Pembrokeshire and the Netherlands to our existing group of marinas around the UK. Helen will bring valuable experience and key skills to the Yacht Havens' management team and the Board as we embark upon the next phase of our company's development."
Helen Grew commented on her new role:
"During its 40 years in operation, Yacht Havens Group has shown itself to be an expansive and ambitious marina group. This has been highlighted most recently by the launch of the first purpose-built, fully enclosed, undercover dry stack facility and the freehold purchase of a succession of waterfront commercial premises in Plymouth. The company is also expanding overseas into its 1,200 berth marina in The Netherlands. All this makes Yacht Havens an inspiring proposition and I look forward to playing a part in the next chapter of the marina group's success."
