The British Dragon fleet come to Largs in June 2015 to compete in their prestigious Edinburgh Cup for the Dragon Open British Championship.
These classic racing yachts are a spectacle both racing and ashore, and racing is expected to be fierce after a spectacular 2014 regatta in Lymington.
June 30th - July 3rd 2015
The Edinburgh Cup has been the Class Championship for the British Dragon Class since 1949. It was presented by the Duke of Edinburgh (Prince Philip) after he had been given a Dragon named Bluebottle in 1948 by the members of the Island Sailing Club.
Now in its 60s as an event, the Edinburgh Cup remains a championship with a great deal of history which has always been difficult to win and therefore treasured even by those who have won many other events. The British Dragon class is determined to make sure that it retains this quality of competition and uniqueness.
Organised by Largs Sailing Club in conjunction with the British Dragon Assocation and the Scottish Sailing Institute. Sponsored by Scottish | Mortgage Investment Trust.
