Boatyard Hand / Forklift Operator @ Haven Quay Lymington

An opportunity has arisen within this busy dry stack marina for a full time role involved in all aspects of running a busy boatyard / dry stack.

Duties focus mainly on the hauling and storage of vessels of all types that are being lifted onto and launched from the yard with a marine forklift including over 50 dry berthed RIBs. This is an active role within an excellent team.

The successful candidate will need:

  • To be customer focussed
  • To be a reliable team player
  • To be prepared to work outdoors all year round
  • To be punctual, motivated and a problem solver
  • Experience of boats, boat handling, general maintenance and forklift operations will be an advantage but full training will be given.
  • A full UK driving Licence

This is a permanent long term position of 40 hours per week including work on alternate weekends through the summer with a degree of flexibility in working hours as required to deal with times of peak demand. We are looking for someone with enthusiasm and great work ethic, full training and development will be provided.

Boat Detailer And Valeter @ Lymington Yacht Haven

A vacancy has arisen within this prestigious 600 berth marina for a full time Boat detailer and valeter. This growing role is critically important as you will be responsible for looking after berth holders boats through our On.Board concierge service as well as maintaining our fleet of Boat Club boats.

Duties focus mainly on day to day maintenance and valeting of berth holders boats who have taken advantage of our Yacht Havens Onboard service while keeping the 5 Boat Club boats in tip top condition.

Boat maintenance and valeting skills / experience, IT skills and excellent customer care skills are essential. Hours may include weekends and shifts. This is an active role within an excellent team in an award winning marina and the successful candidate will be able to multi task and prioritise their workload in a very busy and demanding environment.

Dredge Excavator Operator @ Lymington Yacht Haven

A vacancy has arisen within this prestigious 600 berth marina for a dredge excavator operator. Every year we dredge the Lymington River and Marina from November through to March inclusive (5 months) with our own plant which includes a flat top barge with a Cat 325DL long reach excavator and a bottom dumping barge.

This ongoing dredging programme is critically important to maintain the depth in the marina and river and you will be responsible for operating the excavator working closely with the barge skipper.

The hours are flexible and need to be worked around the tide but will amount to around 40 hours per week including some maintenance time.

  • Experience of excavator operations in a marine environment
  • High level of awareness of safe operating practices
  • Ability to work as part of a team with a flexible ‘can do’ work ethic
  • Practical maintenance skills
  • To be prepared to work outdoors in all weathers

The position could either be offered as a fixed term contract or on a self-employed per load contract basis.
