Lymington has been shortlisted in the top 15 locations in the south east as the best places to live in Britain.

The annual list, compiled by The Sunday Times, rates towns and cities on their amenities, jobs, community, schools, broadband speed, facilities, housing and a range of other factors.

The Sunday Times Best Places to Live team described the Hampshire coastal town saying, "You don’t have to be a yachtie to love Lymington, but it helps. It’s pretty enough to have launched a thousand ships, with predominantly Georgian buildings and cobbled streets leading to the Old Town Quay, where fishing boats still unload their catch."

"Lymington has a large tourist industry due to its harbour and proximity to the New Forest. It's a popular place to live, with predominantly Georgian buildings and sloping cobbled streets leading to the old town quay, where the fishing boats still unload their catch.”

As well as quaint cobbled streets, a thriving high street, a range of top class eateries and the award-winning St Barbe Museum, the town is also well-connected to the Isle of Wight via the car ferry service, and to the stunning New Forest National Park.
