Crossing the Atlantic in aid of Skin Cancer Research
It gives us great pleasure to introduce Lymington locals Greg and Jude - aka the Ocean Brothers - who we are proud to be supporting in their epic challenge to row across the Atlantic.
Setting off in January 2018, the Ocean Brothers are hoping to raise £100,000 for Skin Cancer Research following the passing of their father, Peter Massey, after a long battle with the illness.
Commenting on the sponsorship, Lymington Yacht Haven Director Rupert Wagstaff said, “We’re delighted to offer our support to Greg and Jude to help them complete their epic challenge! The brothers have come on an incredible journey to reach this point and we’re fully invested to help them achieve their goal”.

With a fundraising target £100,000 for the vital research, the brothers have several months of campaigning along with a gruelling training schedule.
Dr Greg Bailey, a Junior Doctor, has seen first-hand how fundraising can make such a difference – “Working in medicine, I’ve seen how charities like the British Skin Foundation are reliant upon public donations and fundraising to continue their lifesaving research. Jude and I have been on or near the water since a young age this is the perfect challenge to honour our father.”
Growing up in Lymington, the brothers are experienced mariners and adventurers. Furthermore, with Peter spending his life around the Solent on board his Boston Whaler, the brothers have gained a strong following in the boating community.
"Brothers Jude and Greg coming together and battling the full force of the Atlantic Ocean on this tremendous voyage for such a moving and deeply touching cause is an inspiration to any family suffering the loss of a loved one to skin cancer. Go boldly into that dark night Ocean Brothers!"
- Sir Ranulph Fiennes OBE
Come and see the boat!
As part of our sponsorship of the Ocean Brothers' quest, their high-spec rowing boat will be based at Lymington Yacht Haven until later this year. Also, give boys a cheer and a wave if you spot them in the Solent over the next few months as they continue their training towards January!
