Helen Haynes, at 97 probably the world's oldest chandler, has hung up her boathook and retire after running the Brunel Chandlery at Neyland Yacht Haven for near 30 years.
Having run the neighbouring Brunel Chandlery (formerly Westfield Chandlery) since its establishment over 27 years ago and as a Neyland Yacht Haven berth holder, Helen has quite a reputation as a nautical guru and an all-round sailing expert.
Helen began her nautical career at Robertsons Boatyard in Woodbridge in 1967, fitting out Wing 25 Yachts, before managing Cox Marine and then Lawrenny Yacht Station with her husband Roy, who passed in 1979.
With such a wealth of experience, Helen has been a rich source of information and advice for customers on the shores of the Milford Have.
Everyone at Neyland Yacht Haven wishes Helen a happy retirement with her family!
