This race is on every sailor’s bucket list, and for good reason, as it challenges the mental and physical abilities of crews and the technical abilities of yachts. To complete this race is an achievement in itself!
The biennial Rolex Fastnet Race starts at noon on Saturday 3rd August (straight after Cowes Week), with the yachts sailing for the Fastnet rock off the Irish coast before finishing in Plymouth. Prizegiving will be held at the Race Village at Plymouth Yacht Haven on Thursday 8th August.
The classic 600mile race will have over 400 boats taking part, the largest fleet in the event's history. Weather depending, we expect the first boats to be finishing in Plymouth on Tuesday or Wednesday.
