- 09 August 2019
This race is on every sailor’s bucket list, and for good reason, as it challenges the mental and physical abilities of crews and the technical abilities of yachts. To complete this race is an achievement in itself!
The biennial Rolex Fastnet Race starts at noon on Saturday 3rd August, with the yachts sailing for the Fastnet rock off the Irish coast before finishing in Plymouth. Prizegiving will be held at the Race Village at Plymouth Yacht Haven on Thursday 8th August.
The classic 600mile race will have over 400 boats taking part, the largest fleet in the event's history. Weather depending, we expect the first boats to be finishing in Plymouth on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Information for Berth Holders
Delivering an event like the Rolex Fastnet Race is not something we take lightly. We're very grateful to our berth holders whose cooperation and understanding is vital to the smooth operation of the event.
As a reminder, the main showers and laundry facilities will remain exclusively for berth holders throughout the week. Enhanced security will be on-site and Fastnet competitors will be reminded to use their dedicated facilities at the Mount Batten centre.
For berth holders who plan to be away from the Yacht Haven with their boats, please let us know your travel plans as we can guarantee Sub-Let Refunds from the Fastnet week! The basin between A pontoon and the Fuel Berth will be used for Fastnet Race finishers who will raft up in this area. As a result, the Fuel Berth will be out of action on Wednesday 7th and Thursday 8th August. Furthermore, berth holders on A pontoon are likely to be blocked in by Fastnet finishers who will leave on Friday morning. If you are intending to leave or arrive on those days, please let us know as soon as possible so we can make a berthing plan for you and your boat.
Should you have any further questions about how the Rolex Fastnet Race will affect you, please do not hesitate to contact us or visit the Marina Office to talk in person.
