We are very excited that this year the finish of the Rolex Fastnet Race will be hosted at Mount Batten. The race finishers are set to arrive between August 12 and 17, and will be provided with berthing at Plymouth Yacht Haven and other local marinas.
The boatyard infill area at Plymouth Yacht Haven will be given over to the Regatta Village including VIP hospitality, media and race management, with a champagne bar and light food refreshments, live music in the afternoons and a large screen to track the progress of the yachts. This should all come to a close by around 7pm each evening.
Away from the marina there will be dedicated shower/toilet facilities for the Fastnet crews outside the hangar, and a 24 hour crew bar and canteen at the Mount Batten Centre.
We will need to ask a number of you to move to alternative berths within the marina in order to accommodate Fastnet boats for the week. Please rest assured that no-one will be asked to leave the marina - if you have an annual berth with us, a berth will be yours to use. However, please let us know if you ARE planning to be away, as we can probably make very good use of your berth and earn you some sublet refunds!
No marina parking is being given to the Fastnet crew or organisers and parking controls will be in place during the week, as will extra security, cleaning and waste disposal. If you have any queries, please don't hesitate to talk to us. We will keep you informed as plans for the event develop.
The race finish coincides with the British Fireworks Championships on Tuesday 13 and Wednesday 14 August, so it is set to be a spectacular week!
