We’ve been talking to Simon Jinks from local marine training business SeaRegs, and he has kindly offered to provide some free, online training exclusively for our berth holders during this lockdown.
The SeaRegs team are offering two online tutorials exclusively for berth holders at Plymouth Yacht Haven. These tutorials are LIVE and face-to-face via an online webinar allowing you to ask questions during the course.
- Intro to Navigation and VHF
This free two hour session is aimed at those who have very little experience and aims to cover basic plotting of position, chart knowledge, plotting a course, use of GPS and how to use a VHF in an emergency.
Friday 10th April, 1800-2000
- Radar setup and use
This free two hour session is aimed at those with radar or are thinking of fitting radar. It covers how to best set-it up and get basic use for collision avoidance and navigation.
Saturday 11th April, 0900-1100
Prior to each session, documents and chartlets will be emailed to participants so you can print out or view on screen. This will allow you to participate in some of the practical exercises during the session.
To sign up to either course, email Simon or Vicky Jinks on firstname.lastname@example.org or call 07711 022003.
