- 27 July 2014
Friday 25th July will see hundreds of boats arriving in Scotland for what will be a 'once in a lifetime experience'.
250 boats will make up a huge flotilla that will make its way up the Clyde to Glasgow to soak up the atmosphere of the XX Commonwealth Games.
Troon and Largs Yacht Haven will be part of the action, by acting as arrival ports for visiting boats coming to the flotilla.
On Saturday 26th July all boats will gather and make their way up to Glasgow. There, you will stay overnight to make the most of the myriad of live events and activities across the city. The BBC are running a riverside live venue called "BBC at the Quay" with open air entertainment and live broadcasts throughout the day and into the night. Many of the sporting venues are a short walk from the dock. You will be sleeping – quite literally – on their doorstep.
Sunday 27th July will see many boats return, but there will be the opportunity to stay in Glasgow for the following week for those that want to do so.
A fantastic unforgettable journey awaits you.
