2014 is shaping up to be a busy year here at Troon Yacht Haven, with sailing and other sporting events seemingly on every week during the late spring and summer months.
In May The Scottish Islands Three Peaks race (May 16th – 18th) combines fell running and sailing, and is closely followed by the 40th Scottish Series (May 23rd – 26th) held on Loch Fyne and organised by the Clyde Cruising Club.
June sees the North British Police Regatta (June 8th – 14th) where Yachts will gather at Troon Marina to begin 4 days of competitive sailing.
The Glasgow Commonwealth Games is going to be one of the highlights of the summer (running from 23rd July – 3rd August) and gives you the perfect excuse to sail up the Clyde and base yourself in Troon, where you can be in Glasgow in just half an hour to savour the atmosphere of this monumental event. Tickets for the games are on sale now.
August also sees the Clyde Cruising Club Troon Weekend (August 16th – 17th) where the racing fleet will descend on Troon for a social and prize giving, before racing back to Largs the following day. Open to all members of RYA affiliated clubs.
And finally in September Windfest is going to be an action packed, thrill seeking weekend, full of windsurfing and kitesurfing. Troon is in the Top 10 high wind windsurfing destinations so the ideal place to take part or spectate. Plenty for everyone at Windfest, where there will be lots to see and do all weekend.
