After launching the Land Rover Team BAR's Chase RIBs in 2015, Haven Quay once again provided launching services for teams involved in the America's Cup. This time, Oracle Team USA's new Chase Boat, built by Scorpion RIBs in Lymington, was launched from Haven Quay for sea trials in the Solent before ownership was officially handed over to the team.
Oracle Team USA, the defending champions of the illustrious America's Cup, split their time between their San Francisco base and their base in Bermuda, the location for the finals of the America's Cup 2017.
Scorpion RIBS, based in Lymington, are world-renowned for providing the best and most reliable chase boats in the industry. As well as providing a fleet of boats for Sir Ben Ainslie's UK-based team, Scorpion RIBs also built, tested and launched a new boat for their American counterparts.
In the early spring of 2016, Team Oracle USA's new RIB was launched from Haven Quay Lymington to undertake sea trials in the Solent before Scorpion RIBs handed ownership over to the team.
