Rolls within Yacht Havens including customer-facing Haven Masters who are responsible for the day-to-day service to berth holders and visiting boats, crew within our boatyard team who operate machinery to safely lift and launch boats, Bosuns who ensure all our equipment and services run smoothly and are professionally maintained, as well as support roles such as administration, accountancy, IT and marketing.

YHQ Launching Fishing Boat

Boatyard & Drystack Marina Operative @ Yacht Haven Quay, Plymouth

A new member of staff is required to join an enthusiastic, professional team in Plymouth. The role is varied but mainly focussed on boatyard activities including the operation of the UK’s largest indoor Drystack Marina where we pride ourselves on our attention to detail and our helpful, can-do attitude. The successful applicant will need:

  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • To be a reliable team player
  • To be prepared to work outdoors, including various maintenance tasks
  • To be punctual, motivated and a problem solver
  • Basic computer literacy and a good telephone manner

40 hours per week are worked on a shift-basis, including alternate weekends. A degree of flexibility is required, depending on peak busy periods. Experience of boats, boathandling, heavy plant and machinery and general maintenance are all an advantage, though training will be given. A full driving licence is a necessity. Salary dependent on experience. There is also a company pension scheme, and private healthcare.

Troon Yacht Hoist From Water

Boatyard & Marina Operative @ Troon Yacht Haven

A new member of staff is required to join an enthusiastic and professional team in South Ayrshire, Scotland, where we specialise in the berthing, hauling and storage of vessels of all types. The role is varied but mainly focused on boatyard activities, maintenance and plant operation.

The successful applicant will need:

  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • To be a reliable team player
  • To be prepared to work outdoors all year round
  • A Crane, Boat Hoist, and Forklift certificate (this is beneficial but not essential)
  • Ability to perform various maintenance tasks
  • To be punctual, motivated and a problem solver
  • Basic computer literacy and a good telephone manner
  • A full UK driving licence

This is a permanent position of 40 hours per week 0830 – 1630. A degree of flexibility is required, including weekend work depending on peak busy periods

Training will be given although experience of boats, boat handling, general maintenance, heavy plant and machinery will be an advantage.

Salary DOE together with a company pension scheme, the option of private healthcare and the potential to qualify for an annual bonus depending on exceptional performance.
