Staff from around our Yacht Havens have been busy this winter upskilling and completing a range of training courses to develop their expertise and careers.
Designed to propel marina staff towards senior marina management roles, Kylie Phillips from Largs Yacht Haven (pictured) and Steve Cox from Plymouth Yacht Haven successfully completely the 4-day intensive Intermediate Marina Management (IMM) qualification.
The course, run by The Yacht Harbour Association, was held in Cardiff with Kylie and Steve needing to successfully demonstrate a range of skills including a comprehensive health & safety understanding, as well as solid business acumen and outstanding customer service.

Dry Stacking Forklift
Down in the Westcountry, new starters Mitch and Tom have successfully completed the Wiggins Forklift test at Yacht Haven Quay.
Despite both having machinery and engineering background, operations within the Plymouth dry stack are unique and handling the Wiggins Forklift requires specialised training and certification.

Staff across the company were offered the chance to complete a course in Customer Service Training. The interactive course encouraged staff to share different customer services experiences and to understand how interpersonal skills can play an important role in customer satisfaction.
With the growing need to ensure staff live healthy lives both physically and mentally, representatives from Yacht Havens took part in a Mental Health For Employees course. The course was designed to ensure the company can quickly identify and support vulnerable staff through discussion and socialising. Course learnings were then fed back to all our Yacht Havens ensuring the right information was disseminated throughout the workforce.
Marina Managers from around Yacht Havens Group were brought together at The Salt Lodge at Troon Yacht Haven (pictured) for a management training course aimed at building high performance teams. The training, developed specifically for Yacht Havens and the challenges within our industry, also provided advice for coaching staff to further develop individual performance and team cohesion.
