About the RIB

“Quay Explorer” is a 6.5m XS RIB, coded by the Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA) which ensures it is equipped and maintained to the highest standard.

  • Modern and efficient 150HP Mercury Outboard Engine
  • 110 litre fuel tank giving you a range of over 60 nautical miles, depending on conditions
  • Chartplotter
  • VHF radio
  • Life raft
  • Adult lifejackets are provided free of charge to all passengers

A charterer must hold a valid RYA Powerboat Level 2 certificate, be aged 25 or over, and complete an induction/handover with a Yacht Haven Quay member of staff.

Day charters commence at 0930 and the boat must be returned to Yacht Haven Quay, washed down and all personal belonging removed by 1700. Late returns will incur an hourly charge (see full terms and conditions for a current rate). Charters commence from and end at Yacht Haven Quay unless by special arrangement, and the RIB must not be operated in the hours of darkness. See full conditions

Terms & Conditions

A charter is subject to the Charterer signing and accepting the full Terms and Conditions (available on request), a refundable £1000 damage deposit, and providing two forms of identification including a utility bill or equivalent which shows a current full-time UK address.

Operation of “Quay Explorer” is limited to a line not west of Falmouth Marina, and not east of Kingswear. During the Charter Period, the Charterer is responsible for the safety and security of Quay Explorer at all times and will moor the vessel on a recognized deep water commercial visitor’s mooring or within a marina.

The vessel will commence the charter with a full fuel tank. All fuel usage is the responsibility of the Charterer; Yacht Haven Quay will refuel at the end of the charter and this will be charged at current published prices.
