Racing, Resilience, and Remarkable memories
The ITCA (GBR) Topper Nationals 2025 has drawn to a close in Largs after six days of competitive racing and community spirit. Over 200 young sailors took part, with Scottish competitors making their mark in every fleet – Regatta, 4.2, Championship Silver, and Championship Gold.
It was a week of contrasts, with heavy weather, sunshine, squalls, and even dolphins keeping sailors on their toes. Ashore, ceilidhs, pizzas, bagpipes, and plenty of laughter created a warm and lively atmosphere.

For the Scottish sailors, completing a full six-day championship was no small feat. They showed endurance, skill, and sportsmanship in challenging conditions, earning pride and admiration well beyond the prize table.
The event ended with a Prize Giving Ceremony celebrating both podium finishes and personal milestones. Thanks went to RYA Scotland, coaches Niamh and Christine, the Scottish ITCA Chair, and Largs Sailing Club for their hard work and warm welcome.
The 2025 Topper Nationals will be remembered not just for the racing, but for the resilience, camaraderie, and lasting memories it inspired.
