Last week, we said a warm and heartfelt farewell to a true friend of Troon Yacht Haven. After more than 40 years in the marine transport industry, John Shepherd has officially retired.

John’s journey began in 1982 as Transport Manager for Euroyachts in Glasgow, before founding John Shepherd Boat Transport in 1985. Since then, John has been a familiar and highly respected figure in boatyards and marinas across Scotland, with Troon being one of his most regular and valued stops.

Based just up the road in Kilmaurs, John has supported our team and berth holders with dependable service, always delivered with a smile and a wealth of experience. Last week, we had the privilege of seeing him off as he collected his final boat from Troon—closing the book on a remarkable career.

On behalf of everyone at Troon Yacht Haven, we thank John for his many years of hard work, dedication, and friendship. He’ll be sorely missed, but we wish him every happiness in his retirement.
