After a decade of tireless service along the South West coast, the trusted workboat Plym Catte has emerged from an extensive 10-year survey and refit, carried out at Plymouth Yacht Haven’s commercial facilities.

Described as the “Swiss Army Knife” of Cattewater Harbour, Plym Catte plays a vital role throughout the year—particularly during the winter months—undertaking a wide range of demanding tasks including mooring servicing, pollution response, salvage operations, port towage and uncrewed surface vessel (USV) support.

The refit was a true collaborative effort. With a tight turnaround and a comprehensive list of works to complete, teams from Cattewater Harbour Commissioners, Nathan Bone Yacht Repairs and Refits, DB Fabs, Mecal Ltd, and Plymouth Yacht Haven pulled together to ensure she was back in the water on schedule.

Thanks to our on-site 75-tonne hoist and undercover refit facilities, Plym Catte underwent essential inspections, maintenance and a fresh coat of paint—one of the most satisfying jobs, especially knowing the tough conditions she operates in.

Following a few final in-water checks, Plym Catte is now fully operational and ready to return to her multifaceted duties across the harbour and beyond.
