Are You Ready for Lifting This Winter?
With over a century of combined lifting experience, our Haven Team has put together some practical advice to help you prepare your boat for winter storage. Before your lift-out date, here are a few simple steps to help ensure everything runs smoothly.
Our Haven Team's Top Tips
- Take all berthing lines with you, do not leave any on the pontoon.
- Position fenders on both sides of your boat.
- Fill your tanks to the brim to reduce winter condensation.
- Drain your water systems to de-pressurise your pipes and reduce the risk of them bursting, if frozen.
- Don't forget to remove cushions and bedding to avoid the winter damp and mould.
Before Your Lift-Out
- Headsails must be removed.
- In-mast furling mainsails, if not removed, must be securely tied off. Our helpful hoist team can assist in doing this.
- Please ensure we have a spare set of keys for your boat.
- Our Haven Team can collect your boat and deliver her back to berth.
- We can unplug your electric when you're ready to come ashore, but you're responsible for plugging back in. Electric is charged as normal when ashore.
