Are You Ready for Lifting This Winter?

With over a century of combined lifting experience, our Haven Team has put together some practical advice to help you prepare your boat for winter storage. Before your lift-out date, here are a few simple steps to help ensure everything runs smoothly.

Our Haven Team's Top Tips

  • Take all berthing lines with you, do not leave any on the pontoon.
  • Position fenders on both sides of your boat.
  • Fill your tanks to the brim to reduce winter condensation.
  • Drain your water systems to de-pressurise your pipes and reduce the risk of them bursting, if frozen.
  • Don't forget to remove cushions and bedding to avoid the winter damp and mould.

Before Your Lift-Out

  • Headsails must be removed.
  • In-mast furling mainsails, if not removed, must be securely tied off. Our helpful hoist team can assist in doing this.
  • Please ensure we have a spare set of keys for your boat.
  • Our Haven Team can collect your boat and deliver her back to berth.
  • We can unplug your electric when you're ready to come ashore, but you're responsible for plugging back in. Electric is charged as normal when ashore.
