The Thursday Evening Keelboat Race Series, or 'Thursday Night Racing' as it is simply known, typically brings together some 90 - 100 yachts each week. Racing is open to all IRC and Lymington Handicap-rated keelboats, organised by the Royal Lymington Yacht Club, sponsored by Spencers New Forest.

Lymington and its surrounding villages have been shaped by the river for over 1000 years. This September, St Barbe Museum + Art Gallery will celebrate this legacy with Lymington Afloat, a four-month festival highlighting the river’s impact.
Starting in Woodside Park, the route takes runners through the lanes to Keyhaven before turning onto the stunning seawall with breathtaking views across the Solent and Isle of Wight.
The race regularly attracts over 1,400 boats and around 15,000 sailors, making it one of the largest yacht races in the world and the fourth largest participation sporting event in the UK after the London Marathon and the Great North and South Runs.
Since 1826 Cowes Week has played a key part in the British sporting summer calendar and is one of the UK's longest running and most successful sporting events. It now stages up to 40 daily races for around 500 boats and is the largest sailing regatta of its kind in the world.
