We recently announced that Lymington Yacht Haven is now the homebase for star sailor Hattie Rogers.

As a special treat for our loyal berth holders, followers and local boating community, we sat down with Hattie to learn more about her sailing career to date, her upcoming season and future ambitions.

This is part 2 of our interview with Hattie. If you missed part 1, you can read it here.

What have been some of your proudest moments or achievements in your sailing career to date?

To date, I have a few proud moments. In the early days, making the 2017 China Youth Worlds team felt special in the 29er. Beyond youth sailing, I won my first World title in the foiling WASZP dinghy in Australia 2022 and my second in the prestigious Moth World title in New Zealand 2024. These were pivotal moments in my journey of growth towards the America’s Cup.

I always knew I wanted to be in the Youth America’s Cup British squad but when the inaugural Puig Women’s America’s Cup was announced, this also became a goal. I went on to be part of both squads, and we finished 3rd and 2nd in the two events respectively, although we all know ‘there is no second’ when it comes to America’s Cup racing!

What are your goals for the upcoming season?

My goals for this year are as follows:

  • Win the 2026 Moth Female World title again in Perth, Australia.
  • Win the 2026 Switch Female World title- this is a new class of foiling dinghy and a new goal for this season.
  • Identify a top coach to work with me. This will be the first time I will have had a dedicated coach, and I know this will grow my sailing hugely.
  • I also have a very exciting personal big project that I am going to move forwards with this year. Very excited about this one, more to come soon!

What does your 2026 schedule look like?

I am excited about the Moth Europeans in Spain as it’s the first big event of the season. From there, the focus will be building up to the Moth Worlds in November. I am hoping to go to the Switch Worlds and Euros (dates TBC) and the Women’s Match Racing Worlds too. I think these will be some of the key highlights for what I can see being an extremely busy and exciting year ahead.

Aside from my international events, closer to home, this year is the 200th anniversary of Cowes Week so I’m really hoping nothing clashes with that, as well as the 60th Contessa anniversary regatta in June.
