SeaFront Marine Group acquires Nick Cox Yacht Chandler
SeaFront Marine Group has acquired landmark Lymington retailer Nick Cox Yacht Chandler. The move further expands the company’s portfolio of marine product distribution, sales and servicing businesses.
“We recognised Nick Cox Yacht Chandler as a family run business that makes customer care and expert knowledge its number one priority,” comments SeaFront Marine Group Director Richard Besse. “These attributes are very much suited to the ethos of SeaFront Marine. It just felt like a really good fit.”

Situated at the heart of the West Solent’s busy yachting hub, at Lymington Yacht Haven, the retailer has been owned and operated by Matt and Liz Evans since 2005. It took its name from the previous owner and legendary Lymington figure Nick Cox who ran the business from 1985 until his death, and the Nick Cox name will continue.
Matt Evans will remain as General Manager at Nick Cox while Liz becomes Operations Manager of SeaFront Marine Group across all the retail businesses. “We have grown Nick Cox steadily over the past decades,” says Liz, “and it was time to take it to the next level. With SeaFront Marine Group Nick Cox is in safe hands, and we are pleased to be part of a bigger venture and a bright future.”
The purchase was completed on 23rd October 2020 and the day to day business at Nick Cox Yacht Chandler continues as normal.
