Lymington Yacht Haven hosted the Sea Angling Classic Qualifiers on a fresh spring day in April. The event offered the chance for anglers to secure free entry into the 3rd edition of the Sea Angling Classic, along with the honour of flying the Lymington Yacht Haven pennant at the main event.

Anglers took to the water with high hopes as they cast their lines into the Solent. Departing Lymington River, competitors had a limited window of five hours to catch, record and release the largest target fish. The conditions remained favourable and the results started to roll in, with competitors landing an impressive variety of species, including Spurdogs, Tope, Smoothhounds, Blond Rays, Bass and Cod.

At the end of the day, the anglers returned to the Yacht Haven for prizegiving, drinks and great food courtesy of the The Chilli Chain.

Standout catches from the event include Martin Fisher’s 63cm Bass, Curt Curtis’s 39cm Bream, Mick Teague’s 53cm Ray, and Mike Long’s 104cm Smoothhound. With congratulations to Badboyz for clinching the overall top spot and securing a place for two anglers in the Sea Angling Classic main event in Portsmouth in June!

Special thanks to the Sea Angling Classic team for orchestrating such a successful qualifier. As well as thanks to all the sponsors for contributing generously including: Lowrance, YETI, Exposure Marine, PENN Fishing, RAILBLAZA, & @berkleyfishing and Crewsaver.
