Largs Yacht Haven was delighted to host Mark Newton who is travelling Britain on his mobility scooter in aid of a host of charities.
Mark, a former army corporal, has been travelling since April 2013 with the plan of driving more than 11,000 miles around the UK. After his military career was ended by a leg injury, Mark took to the road with Missy and Smudge (his two cats) to raise money for charity.
Arriving at Largs Yacht Haven, Mark was able to recharge his scooter, take on supplies from the town and even collect his new boots which were waiting for him at the marina reception.
Since starting his journey in April 2013, Mark has raised a staggering £38,000 in aid of the RNLI, SSAFA, Help for Heroes, Royal British Legion and 1st The Queen’s Dragoon Guards.
You can follow Mark’s journey on his website, Twitter and Facebook sites, and donate on his charity page.
