Over 300 competitors took part in the inaugural 3-day Largs Regatta Festival with the event highlight being a unique figure of 8 course around the islands of Cumbrae and Wee Cumbrae.
The newly formed regatta is one of Scotland’s biggest racing weekends with new sponsors that include Saturn Sails, Scotts (Buzzworks) and Moët & Chandon.
Two days of racing round buoys on the Firth of Clyde is split by the unique round the islands race. Favourable conditions allowed competitors to complete the full figure of 8 course with over 100 boats crossing the finish line. Yacht of the Festival was awarded to Excalibur, sailed by Brian Young.
The racing was complimented by a large shoreside presence including live music, beer & wine tastings, a Land Rover exhibition and the iconic Moët & Chandon terrace party.
