The 48th edition of the Rolex Fastnet Race has come to a close and we're finally able to take stock and reflect on an incredible few days!
Over the four day period, we welcomed over 270 finishing yachts to Plymouth Yacht Haven, varying from the largest yacht to come into Plymouth for berthing at 88ft (Rambler 88) to the smallest at just 32ft (Contessa Assent).
Ashore, an estimated 2,000 visitors enjoyed the Rolex Fastnet Race Village at Plymouth Yacht Haven, many of which taking advantage of free ferry tickets courtesy of Barbican Tourist Information Centre. The Race Village was a hive of activity all week, from live music to 24 hour food, drink and pop-up retail ships to keep visitors and race finishers happy.
Over at the Mount Batten Centre, visitors and youngsters were able to take part in their own 'Round The Rock' adventure with Stand Up Paddleboards available for hire and an inflatable Fastnet Rock providing a race mark.
On behalf of everyone at Plymouth Yacht Haven, we owe a great deal of thanks to the Royal Ocean Racing Club and their Events Team for creating such a wonderful and inclusive event, engaging the public and our marina berth holders at every opportunity. But our biggest thanks goes to all our Berth Holders at Plymouth Yacht Haven as without their support and cooperation, we would not be able to host such a special event. We hope they enjoyed their Berth Holder's Party!
