What's happening at Fambridge Yacht Haven this season?

Going the extra nautical mile

09 March 2017

As winter draws to a close, many of our customers begin final preparations before being launched off, returning to their river moorings or marina berth, and dusting off the sailing jacket and deck boots!

This winter, like many that have come before, brought the occasional windy front with temperatures in late-January dropping to -5˚C!

But come rain or shine, our staff were out every day to keep a close eye on boats, both ashore and afloat. Some particular highlights for our team included:

  • Heading out onto the River Crouch to check mooring lines just before storm Barbara arrived in late-November
  • Strengthening shoring chocks before storm Doris passed through
  • Night time site checks when a rare easterly front blew through
  • Enjoying the incredible sunsets that the winter brings!
  • Check out the photos below!

Our Haven Team are a real asset to our marina. And, what’s more, when we receive customer comments like this, it makes me extremely proud of the service we provide:

“I write to thank you and your staff for the exemplary way that my boat and I were looked after today. It was a rough and windy day so a relaunch was looking more and more unlikely, but the wind abated and your staff, late in the day, offered to lift and relaunch. They did this in a most professional way.

One of your people then suggested to bleed the fuel line. Spanner in hand I did this and the engine fired. Your folk were patient to wait for the engine to warm up before casting off. Then two of them accompanied me to my mooring.

They helped me moor my boat and it is now back where it belongs.

Thank you very much. Please convey my thanks to all of your staff."

If you're leaving Fambridge soon to head to your summer location, then we thank you for spending the winter with us and we hope to welcome you back again this autumn.

Should you be looking for a summer berth, just pop by the Marina Office and we can talk to you about marina berths, river moorings and various benefits that come with a berthing contract.

We look forward to an enjoyable, warm and sunny 2017 season!
