The Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games took place between 23 July and 3 August and have been hailed a huge success. 71 nations with between them 4500 athletes, took part in 17 sports during the course of the Games.
Largs and Troon Yacht Haven were part of the action, taking part in the largest flotilla in history to make its way up the River Clyde into Glasgow. The Commonwealth Flotilla sailed up the Clyde from James Watt Dock in Greenock to Pacific Quay in Glasgow on 26th July. Once everyone had arrived in Glasgow, they participated in the BBC at the Quay live event, which included entertainment and live broadcasts. In total 1900 sailors took part
