The seaside town of Troon was ranked as the happiest place to live in Scotland and the 2nd happiest in the whole of the UK!
Based on an extensive survey by online property experts RightMove, results showed that Troon residents felt a “sense of belonging” in the town as well as feeling safe and being able be themselves.
Rightmove’s Research Manager Abiola Oni said: “Obviously what ‘happy’ means to different people can vary greatly, but when you compare which factors score highest in the happiest areas, it shows just how important having friendly people in the local community area is alongside the services and amenities, which is something buyers often tell us when they are looking in new areas to live.”
The results come on the back of a bumper summer for Troon having hosted the The Open Golf Championships in July which saw over 150,000 fans visit the town. Hot on the heels of Troon in the results, nearby Ayr also scored highly proving we do like to be beside the seaside!
