On 13th and 14th September Lymington will be host to a new Classic Yacht Regatta, organised by the British Classic Yacht Club in conjunction with the Royal Lymington Yacht Club, Lymington Yacht Haven and the Lymington Harbour Commissioners.
Why this Event in Lymington?
Lymington has been a yachting haven for more than 150 years and with a secured International Race Team for the weekend and Competitive Courses to suit the tide and wind, it's the perfect opportunity to get out and race in the Solent.
There will be class starts for Int 6 Metres, 8 Metres, Spirits of Tradition, Classic Cruisers, Darings and Gaffers.
Participants will have use of the Royal Lymington Yacht Club and the Yacht Haven’s extensive new facilities, both on and off the water.
The provisional format for the weekend is as follows:
• Friday 12 September - Arrive - FREE BERTHING on the Dan Bran River Pontoon and enjoy a Welcome Champagne Reception & Registration at the Haven Bar & Restaurant at Lymington Yacht Haven
• Saturday 13 September - 2 Races in the Western Solent followed by a Pontoon Party, sponsored by The Mayflower, and a Gala Dinner at the Royal Lymington Yacht Club
• Sunday 14 September - 1 Coastal Race followed by a Prize Giving in the afternoon. Sunday evening or Monday departures.
