A brand new £1.3m Norwegian fishing trawler will be built at Plymouth Yacht Haven creating 18 new jobs.
The new 15m trawler is expected to take 12 months to build with the moulds already in place in their new unit at Plymouth Yacht Haven's western hanger. With a 6.4m beam, the vessel was designed by naval architext William Owen working closely with MFV UK.
Once the high quality fibreglass mould begins to take shape, Gareth and his team are hoping for further orders, stating, "The future is very optimistic and we are confident of getting more orders and building the business. We are employing up to 18 people and depending on the next orders coming through that could rise to even more."
A warm welcome to Gareth Jennings and MFV UK, trading under parent company West Coast Marine, who have joined a wide range of businesses working from Plymouth Yacht Haven.
