The major redevelopment and extension of the main marina building at Lymington Yacht Haven is progressing well with completion on track for the middle of May.
The building works are being undertaken by local building company Dunford Construction Ltd and will set new standards in the marina industry.
All new washrooms and laundry facilities will be spread across the whole ground floor extension. The facilities have been designed with huge glazed atrium lights, Corian worktops and tiled surfaces, glass cubicles, island sinks and beauty stations, hair dryers and straighteners, heated and backlit mirrors and extra-large shower cubicles with under floor heating, heated towel rails and separate sinks in each shower room.
A lift to the first floor will greatly improve access to the marina office and also lead into the completed, fully refurbished and extended Haven Bar which is now OPEN. The much loved Haven Bar has retained all its original character and charm but with the front balcony now enclosed with full height glazing, the best views in Lymington just got even better! The panorama across the marina and out over the Solent sets this location apart. A fireplace in the extended snug has created a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. The first floor extension now accommodates the all-new kitchen, that creates delicous food to the highest standards.
Rob Smith will continue to operate The Haven with the same great team. Combined with the fantastic new facilities, The Haven is a welcoming and popular destination.
All new toilets specifically for the restaurant have been built on the first floor for the customers’ convenience.
The large first floor sun terrace remains unchanged with jumbo heated parasols, BBQ tables and again enjoying spectacular views over to the Isle of Wight, perfect for the sunny days and those sundowners watching the sun set over the Solent.
This is a significant improvement of the shore side facilities on offer and represents a major investment of over £1 million at Lymington Yacht Haven.
Director Rupert Wagstaff said 'The new and improved facilities will greatly benefit both our marina users and visitors to the popular Haven Bar, and I hope our berth holders and visitors will enjoy the number of other small improvements we have made around the marina over the last year, which are all part of our ongoing improvement programme that helps to keep Lymington Yacht Haven ahead of the competition. We plan to continue with the Bike and Electric car hire too, which proved very popular last summer for exploring along the sea wall and our attractive New Forest surroundings.'
A fully landscaped BBQ area is also planned for the bottom end of the berth holders’ car park. Overlooking the marshes and The Solent beyond, this tranquil area will be equipped with a BBQ and seating for berth holders and visitors to use. This facility will be free but please do book through the marina office to ensure availability.
